ThereseGreetings Everyone!

Welcome to my little slice of online real estate.  As fearless leader of the Exceptional Families Network, I hope to offer you strong leadership, comforting words, fun events and a network of wonderful families with whom you should connect as well as some really good advocates.

Having background in technology sometimes comes in handy, and this web site is no exception.  I chose iGroops.com as our group host because of the way cool neeto nifty online toys they offer.  Our group jingle is "Transforming Isolation into Community" and the features offered give you just that:  numerous ways to connect with others walking a similar path in a supportive and caring environment.  If you need a web cam or headphone to connect via audio or video and there is a hardship situation please email me at info@wyattshouse.org and I'll see what we can do.

A little about me... I am re-married to a wonderful man who is a loving hermit and wishes to remain stealth.  Both of us love motorcycles and ride, though not frequently enough.  My heartthrob is my son Cody who is bright, intuitive and a bit of a warped goofball.  He's not far from a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido and is great in school.  Collectively we have a dog named Squirt (because he does), a ball python named Monte (had to...) and a love bird named Poultra (the mechanical bird from cartoon favorite "Jimmy Newtron").

My son Wyatt, for whom our nonprofit was named (see http://www.wyattshouse.org/) was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome at 4 years of age and we spent years trying to get him the help needed to succeed in school as well as in life. Here is our story. On August 19th, 2003 he (9) and his father were killed in a car accident, hence the reason I started the foundation.  It's cheaper than therapy and impacts the world more positively.  At least that's what my chocolate tells me.

I grew up living in several states, then lived in Germany for almost 8 years attending a Catholic convent boarding school.  I'm not Catholic so you can imagine that was a fun ride.  Though the German is a little rusty I graduated high school there with a German language diploma from Goethe Institute Munich and some capabilities in French and Italian. Returning to the States, I attended college for a while in California, working for tech companies in international sales in the Silicon Valley and subsequently getting into web design, hosting and marketing.  To date I have traveled to 29 countries on business and for pleasure and wouldn't trade those experiences for the world.

AliveRaw One of my current passions is learning all about nutrition and how you can heal your physical and even emotional maladies with properly prepared, nutrient-dense whole foods.  I stumbled into the raw vegan realm and, though it may not appeal to you initially, the effects are amazing!  Why make your kids pop expensive enzyme pills when you could include raw fruits and vegetables which provide those much-needed enzymes? I am currently becoming certified as a Nutritional Therapist and when completed I might consider working with the kids in the group.  In the meantime there is a LOT of reading...

Now I live in Olympia WA and love the area... except the precipitation.  I'm very thankful for all and everyone in my life and am on a mission to improve life for our special kids.  If you'd like to know more about our group or need help for your child please contact me.  That's what we're here for!

Take care and
Hug you kids,
